The City of Marion will host the 2026 Christmas Parade and Christmas on the Square Event *
(The current date is proposed for Saturday, December 12, 2026. Stay tuned for updates).
Food and fun on the square begins at 3:30 p.m.
The Christmas Parade will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Lineup for the Parade will begin at 4:00 p.m.

The City of Marion Mayor's Office, the Marion Volunteer Fire Department, and the Marion Police Department will host Halloween 2026 (Halloween on the Square on Friday, October 31, 2026)
Location: Between the Marion City Hall & the Fire Station (123 E. Jefferson St.)
When: Friday, October 30, 2026
Time: 4:30 p.m.- 5:30 or until candy & treats are gone (Vendors will continue selling between 8-9 p.m.)

Our Little Miss Marion Pageant will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Sign-up & details are available in City Hall or by contacting 334-683-6545

City of Marion Council Meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Special Call meetings, cancelations, and committee meetings will be posted via Facebook, and in City Hall.
City Council Meetings begin @ 6:00 p.m. in the Council's Chambers located at 123 E. Jefferson St.
All agenda appearances must be submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. Thursday before the scheduled council meeting.

* Marion-Perry County Library has storytime for children ages 10 and under every Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.
* The Perry County Commission meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Public comments are held from 5:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.
* The Marion City Council meets on the first and third Monday of each Month immediately following Public Comments at 6:00 p.m. in the Council's Chambers at the Marion City Hall. (Public Comments begin at 6:00 p.m.) Special Call meetings and meetings that fall on the listed Monday's are posted within a 24-48 period to given the public access to all city meetings. "Congress in your Community" is held each year by the Honorable Congresswoman Terri Sewell (7th Congressional District) to highlight federal issues that relate to our community and citizens across the world.
The meeting highlights new projects happening in Perry County and gives citizens insight on federal issues such as the Affordable Health Care Act, the new tax bill, rural health care facilities, and much more.
